Hi fellow fish fanatics :D

I was just wondering what, in your opinion and from your own experiences, is the best algae eater. Which fish, shrimp or snail works tirelessly to keep your tank clean and tidy?

Information like what size tank you have and how many of these algae-eaters are in your tank would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have 3 nerite snails in my 10 gal but they do eat ENDLESSLY so this worked out well with my tank because it was COVERED in algae.  If this is not the case then once all of the algae is gone in your tank then you may or may not have to give them algae wafers althugh they will survive off of any uneaten fish food, but sometimes that is not enough.

I would say snails too. I have three, and three amano shrimp (who seem to only come out after lights off) and my tank is spic and span.

I havn't had anything that cleans except for snails..but they do a very good job, and they're stinking adorable!

+1 on the nerites, plus most dont hatch in FW so you wouldnt be overpopulated.
