My LFS gave me 2 male mollies and two female mollies. I know now that this was a bad ratio, and completely stressed one of my mollies to death.

4 weeks ago i put her in our hospital tank and treated her for an internal infection. she proceeded to bend more and more.

i've put her back in the community tank in a 'close to the surface' breeder net, so that she can be close to the surface. i can't believe that she has lasted 1 month like this. i'm surprised that she is still able to eat in this condition. she flutters in circles.

what does she have, what can i do?

i know she is in the late stages of something, but i don't know how to proceed?

thanks for any input.

Not sounding good, could be a birth defect, anymore like her.

no just her. she is a full sized adult female. white sailfin to be exact. she gave birth to 25 fry about 5 weeks ago.

can i help her in any way?

thank you so much for responding.

michele ;)

She will die from being bent, but they can last a while, if she is not in pain and distress, just let her carry on for now, sorry.

If it was a birth defect it should have appeared when she was a lot younger. If she's old, it might be this. Otherwise, it could be TB. Regardless, you should keep her isolated. If the internal anti-bacterial meds did nothing, there's probably no hope of curing her anyway so don't stress her with treatments. Just leave her in a quarantine tank untilt the bending is obviously causing her distress and then you should euthanise.
