I have a female blue dwarf gourami who has become 'S' shaped...when you look from above she's like a backwards letter s along the spine so her face is looking off to the left. There's no external wounding or any visible signs of damage or swelling etc.

Has anyone experienced this before? What's my best move or should I euthenase? She's stilll eating, but not very much at all

My guess is that the gourami has been stunted and the growth of her bones exceeded the growth of her muscles. Unless she is already a full grown dwarf, it could have been an injury.

If she is swimming fine and eating fine, I don't think you need to euthanise her. Also I don't think there is a cure for that :(

She bent up literally over the weekend, so I guess it could have been an injury. Since her 'husband' died, the female and male red sunrise dwarf gourami do harass her at times. I would get another blue male dwarf but they're not something I want to restock with due to their delicate natures. I've tried them and now I want to focus on the gourami that I have left.

Thanks for that advice. I had a nasty feeling there wouldn't be a cure. She's still eating atm so I'll leave her be. The female red was at her again last night, but sadly I don't have a spare tank to put her in unless I move my short finned pk male betta into my community tank (something I'm reluctant to do unless I am there to keep an eye on things)

EDIT: Sadly I found Miss Blue dead when I got in last night. No matter how many times this happens, I still hate it :(

It could have been fish tuberculosis. I lost a fish to it too. There is a medication you can buy for it, but I don't remember what it is called. I didn't have enough money to get it. I'm sorry for your loss!
