Over a period of about two months I've gone through four females and one male guppy. The first male and female pair just died within a day of each other, then another two more females died abot a week later, leaving me with one female and two males. Then I bought three more females and managed to get ten fry from the one before she died, then the last one looked about ready to drop her's but instead this wierd yellowish lump/balls came out of her body and just hung outside her for a couple of days before she died. What was wrong with her, and why can't I seem to get any babies out of any of them? Every person I talked to has a problem with guppy pop. explosions but me. Now I have just the two males and two females. Am I doing something wrong or am I just picking and buying really messed up fish? They seem fine when I get them. Even as I type the one female has been caring babies forever and she hasn't even chunked out, her gravid spots are black but she's still skinny and I've had her for over a month. When is she going to have fry?

What are your water stats? and what size tank do you have? What are you using for water conditioner? The little yellow blobs you are talking about sound to be undeveloped fry. Sometimes when the femail feels stressed she will abort her babies. To have lots of babies you have to have good water stats and the temprature of the tank should be around 78 degrees. They will eat their young so you need somewhere for your babies to hide.
