I feel odd asking, but I know the names, at least on cetaceans, of the dorsal fin on the back, pectoral fins on the sides, flukes or tails in the back, but what is the fin called on the stomach? Correct me as well if these other names are not correct on fish.

Thanks!

I believe cetaceans (whales and dolphins) have flukes, not fish... the tail fin on fish is called the caudal fin, and the fin on their belly is the anal fin. Some fish also have a paired set of fins on their bellies called ventral fins, which are closer to their heads than the anal fin :)

Thanks! That really helped! I was trying to refer to my betta's ventral fin and I had no idea what to call it! B)
