I have 2 male mollies, one is very dominant others super submissive. When the dominant one starts to chase the girls I have and the other one follows. The dominant one will turn around "flare" its sailfin and the other male will almost go vertical and put his fins together. Such a submissive fish. I think I'm going to move it and a female into my 10 gallon tank. Although I think the young won't have much of a chance to make it. Would you guys suggest putting in a devider for the fry and the 2 grown mollies and 3 platys I have? Also do your mollies act this way as well?

Thanks I'll be sure to do that. Don't want the little buggers to be eaten like my last batch.

i have two males and they do exactly this. it actually got to the point that the females also started to give the passive male a hard time and began constantly tail-slapping him, so now he lives in the fry tank with the fry and is quite happy to be the biggest fish around
as for the divider not really necessary. if you can, go ahead and move the fry into their own tank. but if you have plenty of plants and hiding places in the tank, most will survive on their own.

I have a 10 gallon fry tank setup. I have 3 middle size platies in the tank with my most pregnant female, I guess i will just move the submissive one down there. Lots of plants so there are plenty of hiding places. Thanks for the advice.

I have two male mollies that act pretty much in the same way. The largest one flares his salfin and he always chases the smaller one off.

are they both of the same size...

can you put pics of them...

...

That seems to be typical molly behavior. A divider would be great for the fry, just be sure you have an airstone on their side of the divider :D

what is an airstone...
