hello there.

i started keeping tropical fish last year, and like many people i know, i got carried away with stocking my tank. i have a juwel rio 125, which houses at least 25 fish of random species. these include a red tail shark, large congo tetra and two 6 inch plecs. im able to re-home these now as my LFS has cleared its tanks. i have the usual: corys, neons, rams (1 bolivian + 1 electric) couple of catfish ( upside down and cant remember the name of the other, like a pictus but smaller). got an amazing horse face loach, who is called Ruud (football fans will understand why :p). cant remember the rest. anyway, im wanting to re-home as many as possible and stock my tank with appropriate fish and numbers. id like to have rarer fish as everyone has similar fish to me. basically any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. btw, dont want to spend more than £30 per rare fish.

thanks

What about a harem of rare dwarf SA Cichlids, group of rare plecos and a less common schooling fish group? You'd be looking at under £30 per Cichlid and shoaling fish, but over £30 per pleco.

i will look into that. i dont mind paying more for a good looking plec as i think they are brilliant.dont cichlids need brackish water and a higher temperature? would that affect my other fish? sorry im still learning so dont know much about them.

Not all, there are some cichlids which need brackish water, but I have never seen any of those for sale in a normal shop and only a few need high temperature. There is a really good Apistogramma (one group of SA dwarfs) forum I can recommend, but it would be against the rules for me to tell you what it is on here.. I think the only way to do it is if you get in touch with me outside of the forum.
