Beginner

im getting a new 54L tank never had plants in a tank before (not real ones anyway)
but want some now!
what should i start with as a beginer
i want something that will go ok with some rasboras corys and dwarf gouramis or rams not decided between the two?
but i need your help with plants

java fern, tie it to a rock/bit of wood. one of if not the easiest plant to keep!
