Unless you're changing the substrate (and maybe even then), I would leave them in. It will probably be less stressful to the fish than catching and moving them twice.

if its a must then use two fish net to catch fish generally r alot ezier then with 1.

We always leave ours in even if doing a major change. They seem to cope with it quite well and we haven't had any problems as a result of leaving them.

Depends on the fish and how much re-arranging your doing.
I've had Rams die on me from leaving them in the tank while I stick my arm in elbow deep and mess around in there.

I am a beginner as well... but in my opinion, from loads of research..
Your fish generally just want their 'house' left the heck alone... LOL... but of course, we all must re-decorate, or occasionally stick an arm in the tank....
I'd say its less stressful on fish to leave them in and let them find a place to hide, rather than moving them out and then back in again.

it almost seems as though my goldfish enjoy me fiddling around inside the tank. they always swim up to my hand and arm and half the time I need to shoo them away.
