I just got 1 bannana plant 1 val I am kind of new to live plants they are getting ate and my val is losing the texture off one of the leaves is this normal also they gave me some fertilizer for aquarium plants put one capful what can I do.

java fern will grow good in a 10g with factory lighting. ferts will help any planted aquarium. nibbling on leaves is normal for some fish. just depends on the plant and fish as to if the fish will eat it or not. So if you have plant nibblers, then research the plant to make sure its not poisonous to the fish (ex. lilly's)
