I was so proud of the way my tank looked today after a few new plants, a tidy up and my first fish in this planted tank that I had to post some pic's. The top pic is just after it was planted a week ago, the second is todays pic after a few new plants, a weeks worth of TPN+, CO2, a tidy and ten tetra added (no idea what the purple plant is lol) and the difference is amazing compared to a week ago. The plan now is to get another 30 tetra, some star grass growing out from the midground plants and round the sides to the front to really fill it up and I'm gonna make up a christmas or weeping moss wall for the back wall. I hope you like it, like I say the top pic is a week ago, second is todays pic and the next few are some side shots.

Not sure that the 'purple thing' is aquatic but I could be wrong :)

That tank is too small for 40 tetra. It is borderline for 10 tetra. Yes by the " per rule it may be OK but teras need room as they are very active. I wouldn't get more in there.

If you want a large school in there I would get some microrasboras. Erythromicron or brigittae or galaxy etc.

Looking good though

Thanks :) no I dont think its aquatic either lol, may loose that one. Still wish my Cabomba and Ambulia were as bushy as they were when they arrived. To trim them to get them bushy should I keep the stem shorter to get it to sprout more leaves? Thought if i kept them shorter they'd maybe grow outwards rather than upwards?
