Would you agree that the fry in the tank are rudd?

Yep they look like Rudd unless you have some big Orfe in the pond you collected them from? Then Orfe could be a possibility. You have the wild form of Rudd yes, not the Golden form?

nah were only rudd at the time, there Golden ones though.

How old are they and what other fish are in the pond?

the Rudd are about 4/5 years now, at the time we bought a bulk lot of about 50 for the new pond and alot died in the first year of the pond being built!! There where about 3/4 int he pond where those fry where found.

also in that pond at the time there was koi, goldfish, freshly added sarasa comets.

the golf fish fry that i had already relased were mainly in the top pond although some had travelled down the water fall to the bottom pond...unless there was a very small bacth frmo the bottom pond goldfish!!

in the top pond there where albino grass carps and gold fish.

oh yes and there's green and golden tench in both ponds at the time.

Yep they are Golden Rudd then, if the fry are only a few months old they are unlikely to have developed their full colour yet.
