First off apologies if this is not allowed or in the wrong place.

Been offered what looks like a Jewel 250 or 260 set up. Was all working when placed in the shed 7yrs ago.

Seems a lot of tank for the cash, may even buy to sell on.

Or should I just give it a side berth?

I'd go for it - but I'd leave it outside (covered) / in a garage full for a week before moving it into the house.

You don't want to find out that it leaks in the front room

Holy cow, Buy it. Make sure it dont have a leak. But they tanks are worth a good 150 quid at least depending on the gear it has.

Just make sure everything works. I presume the lights will be knackered but a good buy none the less.

Existing pump is a fluval 405.

Whole thing has cobwebs on it but think it'll clean up ok

May buy to sell on subject to making sure all is good as got a 500 litre tank in the lounge & not sure the wife will let me have a 2nd tank!

would love to upgrade my tank to a tank that size but hey ho :p

Guessing then you have a huge tank then, size of a small country maybe!

200L tank, I want to upgrade anyway.

Got ya.

This would be a second tank for me, now worked out it could go in the kitchen, even matches the black & white colour scheme we have in there.

Get it quick.
It looks to me like a Juwel Vision 180 as they have the bow front.  You are looking at about £450 for tank and stand alone, so in my opinion worth the risk.
I bought one awhile ago second hand with two Eheim External Filters plus extras, £700 worth of gear for £100!  Mine is the dark wood colour.
It looks stunning as a piece of furniture, yet to be filled, so it will look awesome when it is.
In fact my nephew thinks it is my best tank and it has nothing in it yet!
Mine also matches our furniture in the dining room, so you will not regret it, and I think the wife will be happy with it to, with it matching your kitchen.
In fact...
you could fill it with black and white fish, like Zebra Plecs, if you can find them at a reasonable price!

Think it might be bigger than the 180 as its 120cm wide, 50cm back to front at largest point and floor to top of the tank is 135cm

Let us know if you have got it.  Good idea to fill it in the garage, I saw mine up and running so knew it was all OK, although still pending filling.
Going to measure up tonight to see that it fits first off. Doubt it'll go anywhere, been in his shed for 7 years!

You could probably get £50 for the filter alone if it's working so I think it's worth the risk even if you throw most of it away! If it's ok then you've got yourself a bargain!
