8 US gallons is not a whole lot of tank to be honest. Biorbs are also quite difficult to maintain from what Ive heard. Search on this forum and youll faind not many people have good things to say about them. I also think that that many endlers is too many. Each reaches about an inch so really you are looking at 8 and that's it. Check out this description:

Other small fish options include pygmy cories, harlequin rasboras, maybe some of the smaller tetra species although they tend to need more swimming space, cherry barbs + consider shrimp.

i started with one of these, and for a small cheap, stylish looking little aquarium i cant say enough about them.
i had no problems maintaining it, only difficulty was in planting difficult to secure them.
you could consider 1 betta
or a small school of small tetra
or even maybe 4 or 5 tiger barb, but with such a small tank you might get a lot of fin nipping as they jostle for king tiger position.

I thought the endler idea was a great one, although 15 sounds like a couple too many. Shrimp would work, too.

Microrasboras would also be a great choice. Some of them have dazzling colors!
