Beef Liver

If you fed red meat to your fish every day, it would probably cause big digestive problems,
Moderation is always good, but In that case, why bother in the first place? On top of all this it's messy, and because it needs to be carefully trimmed of all fat it's a pain. These are fish and they really don't need a weekly McDonalds fix.

Beefheart is used by breeders because it promotes excessively fast growth. People often follow a breeders example (surely they must know what they're doing), not realizing that their greater interest is in selling stock as quickly and large as possible. Fish stores sell beefheart because it sells. They don't need another reason. Don't ever assume a retailer wants what's best for you.

But what are my alternatives (not being snotty, I just need suggestions)?

Take out the beef heart completely and hope for the best? Anyone have a rope fish? What do you feed?

I'm into tough love. They can fast a long time with no negative affect on their health. Try worms or some fish meat. If he doesn't eat it remove it and wait until the next day and try again. He'll bite eventually. Once you get him onto a better fresh food you can work on prepared foods.

Well, last night I happened to be by the ONE lfs in my town (of 150,000) that sells ghost shrimp. I popped 2 dozen in the tank, and he went bonkers for them. Boy, he can be lightning fast! The shrimp will do for now, while I think of something else to add to it.

Thanks for the help everyone.
