Beautiful New Swordy

Normally I wouldn't buy fish from this particular LPS as their tanks are WAAAYY overstocked, the fish normally look sick with ich/clamped fins/shimmying etc. 2 weeks ago I was in there looking at stuff (and fish) and saw some nice looking platies and swords. One sword that got my attention was a pure white sword female. Not albino since it has black eyes. All the fish in the tank looked healthy then. I resisted the impulse buy and went back there last week. The white sword was still there and all the fish still looked healthy. Once again I resisted the impulse. Then today I went there amd the fsih still look REALLY healthy and the white sword came to the front of the tank for me. That was it. I HAD to have that fish

So I bought her

And normally I don't name my fish but since she is SOOO much different from my other swords and platies I have decided to name her.

They aren't the best pics but bear in mind how hard it is to get a pic of a white fish in a tank with no background and a house with walls painted the same colour

She is very pretty, her fin looks a lil higher than normal too, she may make some cute babies if pred with your twinbar. She looks quite a bit like my female, prob a very pale neon. Mine has more orangein her dorsal, but a very high fin as well. Strangely, I also have a male twinbar red myself, who I will be breeding her with! Nice job!

I have a male twinbar sword (seen in pic) and a male golden sword (with a black sword) that I am hoping she will breed with. Those and the male platies she will be eventually with and I am sure I will have beautiful fry

If you look closely she has a pale orange ventral fin.....which tells me she may be a pale neon. Yes, she is beautiful and will give me beautiful fry

Now I am on the hunt for a black male swordy. The LFS has HUGE red wag swordies ATM that I will be buying 2 (or so of) once they pass quarantine (they have a mild case of fungus ATM).....

Very Nice Chook! Love her coloring.

They had a couple like that at my fish store when I went today, but I had to decide between those and Koi Swordtails....so I chose the Koi. Just because I can never ever find them. Now I'm tempted to go back and get a couple of the girlies in the other color though. I'm so addicted.
