Can I get some help here. This fish was only $2.50. It was stunning so I bought it - and hoped for the best. What did I get?

Sorry for the small pic. All I've got is a digital video camera.

well the pic is very small so hard to tell but it's a pseudotropheus of some sort, probably either an elongatus, or just a color type of a zebra

only other thing it could possibly be is mayb a melanochromis johanni but I think it's more likely a zebra

pretty sure that's a Pseudotropheus Elongatus

My guess is Melanochromis because it has the flatter torpedo shape that they tend to have. Pseudotropheus have more laterally compressed bodies. A closer shot would be great.

either johanni or mainjaino, sort melanchromis definately has broken horizontal stripes

I keep johanni and elongatus

I think it's a male pseudotropheus zebra. I've got one that looks almost exactly the same
