Hi

We've got a couple of male guppies at the moment and we'd love a few more. We can't decide whether to keep it an all male tank, or whether to get 4 or 5 female guppies.

It's a 60 litre tank (about 13UK gallons I think)

The thing is, we just haven't got room for more than 1 tank, whatever the size and I just worry that if they start breeding we'll turn into some of the people I've seen on here with 4 or 5 tanks!

So, if we put females in there and just leave the survival of the fry up to nature :/ is it inevitable that we will be over run with guppies? We've got quite a few plants in there that they could hide in. I love the idea of having baby guppies but I don't want it to be a cruel environment for them.

If you've got lots of plants, a good % of the fry may well survive...

we'll turn into some of the people I've seen on here with 4 or 5 tanks!

And whats wrong with that :) :)

You can always find somewhere for another tank :)

or u could sell them to ur lfs if they are low on stock on that sort of fish it may very well open up a small business for u ;)
