Bargain Convicts

i have a 90 gallon tank up and running, and i been looking for some cichlids to put in there , i have just been offered 30 1" fry for £15 im pretty sure thats a gr8 offer, so now i just goto wait untill next weekend to pick them up ,

so a few quick questions,

1) whats the best way to transport 30 fry ? they are moving about 89 miles

2) whats the best tank mates ( cichlid only )

Well other New world cichlids would be good tank mates, but how big are the convict fry? Convicts are very hardy cichlids and pretty much can be housed with any fish. But depending on the size of the fry you may be limited for a while until they grow a bit larger. Also keep in mind though they are small now 20-30 convicts wont be long filling up a 90 gallon, as territories will be made and fry produced. In terms of transporting them it all depends on their size, if they are small you could put them in a larger covered bucket, if they are larger I would bag them up with maybe 6 or so in each bag. Be sure to keep what ever your transporting them in warm.
