Barcoo Grunter With Oscars And Sevs.

i just got a barcoo grunter 9 inches. people say its a very agressive fish but so far 2 days now it has been well with my 3 -4 inch osacrs(2) and my 2-3 inch severums(5). will the barcoo grunter kill them later?? cause it hasnt eaten in 2 days but the person who i got it from says it eats like crazy

ahhh, another aussie, about 2yrs ago, i got 2 small barcoo grunters, i put them in my tank with my barra, archerfish, turtle and crays, the larger of the 2 grunters killed the smaller then grew rapidly, then as it got older bullied my archerfish, resulting in its death, then it eventually died, i really would watch it as it is much lager then the rest

Yeah, well only having it for 2 days, doesn't really say much. When I first kept South Americans, I had some Oscars, a green terror, jack dempseys, and one red devil. It all seemed fine until a month later I found both oscars dead. About a week later I had two fish, the devil and a dempsey. Like lychas said it has a lot of size over the other fish.

trust me, they can be verry agressive, i do miss my guy and will get another one one day but will only be keeping it with other large fish like barra or silver perch, something that can fight back

hmmmm the barcoo chased the red oscar and sum of the sevs last nite kinda worried but now thier all friends again.... wierd + the grunter wont eat. i feed him pellets. they just float pass same with the prawns. oscars and sevs eat it ater though.

thats already alot of fish for a 5ft really so adding something aggressive isnt a very good idea......
