Please help

Tank size: 90L
pH: 7.0 neutral
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 10
tank temp: 26

Filtration: Aquaone 620 with filter in the hood.

Fish Symptoms: The last 2 days all of my mums barbs bar two have started rubbing themselves on objects and headstanding.
One just floats around at the top and when the others come close & nip at him then he goes back to normal for a while.
Some have a few ragged fins but they're all still eating fine.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: 25% every week

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Wardley water conditioner

Tank inhabitants: 8 tiger barbs. 1 bristlenose catfish

Recent additions to your tank: She just put in a new live plant 5 days ago without quarantine.

Exposure to chemicals: Don't think so

Had the tank setup for 3mths.
I thought maybe the flukes with the constant rubbing but don't know about the headstanding.

I live in Australia and I can only find Sterazin by Waterlife or fluke tabs if it is that.

Please any help

Looks like everything is in fine condition per your parameters. Great info for your post.

Tiger barbs are sometimes like that and they will often have their heads down after feeding and especially when they sleep.

The ragged finnage is a little worrisome. Is it from them nipping each other or from a sickness? Is it possible to show a picture of it?

Check the gills on the barbs to see if they look pale with excess mucas on them, or are the gills red and inflamed.
The plants could of fetched a parasite in.

Is there any tiny bubbles on the fish.

Thanks for replying.

The gills look fine. Not pale or with mucas, nor red or inflamed.

Only the two eldest barbs have the split ragged fins and it's only on their pelvic fins and dorsal fin.
1 green barb has a small chunk out of his dorsal fin which I think happened when he was floating around and the other barbs nipped at him.

2 tiny white spots have just apeared on the little green barb who seems the most affected. So do you think the rubbing and headstanding could of been the starting signs of ick?

That why i asked if they had tiny bubbles on them as whitespot can show itself like that before you notice the grains of salt on them.

Oh ok, good to know. Thankyou Wilder.
I didn't notice any bubbles and my mum said she didn't either.

Would the ragged fins be a symptom of ick too or something else? The two big ones are always chasing each other for the top position in the pecking order. Maybe it's just from fighting?

Not coming on here before i go to bed anymore I end up logging on and replying lol.
Yes finrot common on top of whitespot, the med might help heal the fins so don't worry.
Good luck.
Sorry forgot turn temp up to 30, Increase aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.
Read instructions carefully that you can add the full dose with the fish you keep,
And remove black carbon if you use it.

No don't worry you never kept me up, lol.
Good luck.
