Barb Tank...

alright so my 29gallon tank is going to be free soon (like next week, the other fish are moving out to a 55gallon ) and I was wondering, I've got 4 tiger barbs already (had 7 but 3 died ), how many barbs will I be able to fit in this tank? I want to get atleast another 4-6 tiger barbs and I was thinking of Rosy barbs, or I may just get a shoal of 5 green tigers and 5 albinos... would this tank work with a shoal of 8 tiger barbs, 5 green tigers and 5 albino tigers?? Or would this over stock it? I've got a 55gallon hang on canaster filter and a Whisper 40 air pump for this tank, so oxygen and filtration is fine... but would it be too small for these fish??

It will just work IMO, but others may suggest slight overstocking. What are the dimensions of the tank? I would recommend a 3ft long tank for Tiger Barbs to fully thrive so if it is that long which I think it may be, you should be fine.

tank is 30"long, 12"deep, 19"high... Probably not enough room then??

No you may well still be fine, some people suggest 24"/2' as minimum for Tiger Barbs so yours is fine for the minimum requirement. They are a great fish to watch in big schools, largest school I had was 11 but they were awesome especially if you are getting different types like the green and albino. GL.
