Barb Bloated Again

not too long ago, i managed to get my female rosy barb's belly to shrink after it was bloated for months. i raised the temp to 84F and used metronidazole.

after a few weeks, she's bloated again. could this be some kind of organ failure that prevents her from digesting food?

If the fish is getting fat over the course of several weeks then it is probably eggs that are developing in her. If she gets fat overnight (in a 24hours period) then it is probably an internal bacterial infection.
Barbs should be kept in cool water (18-22C) to prevent them developing eggs. Then as the water warms up (24-26C) they develop eggs and start breeding. If there isn't a male in the tank then the female can become egg bound and remain permanently fat.

if what you say is true, then the other female rosy barb should be eggbound too. however, i've never seen her bloat up.
