i love those guys, one day i'll get a marine tank (don't have the ££ or space for it at the moment)
does anyone keep banggai cardinalfish? i saw min tank size is 30 gallons, but is that for 1 fish or more? i've always seen them kept in groups
what can be kept with them fish-wise?

They're pretty peaceful fish and can be kept with most any other nano fish that are not too aggressive. Usually they're kept in pairs or triads. I could start listing off fish they're not compatible with but its prolly easier if you research others that you like and then ask if those would be OK with them ;)

Just bear in mind that they are relatively slow swimmers. Also their pretty fins are irresistable to anything that has fin-nipping tendancies.

i've seen lots of gobies that are unbelievebly cute (there are of course a zillion different types of gobies)
i really like gobies though. and blennies too. the way some of them hop about.
would they work with cardinalfish?

i knew cardinalfish aren't madly swimmy fish. a bit like some of my bettas in that respect hehe.

Well as you've said that are many different sorts of Gobies, but generally the two should be fine together as they occupy completely different areas of the tank.

It is well worth the extra £££ or $$$ to set up a marine tank

I completely agree, my FW tank is just dull after going marine and it's long term future will be as a sump for a larger marine setup!

I have two bangaii cardinals, one of them is in my sig. Yeah they are pretty slow swimmers and crazy eaters. Lovely fish though. My male is keeping eggs in his mouth at the moment. If I read correctly he should be letting them loose any day now.

I currently breed the Bangaii Cardinal fish, they are great. *as mentioned are slower fish, and can be very "dramatic" they usually take a few hours to accomdate, when streesed will loose colorization, and may float on side at top of the tank... is okay, but freaked me out the fist time i saw it. Good too keep with flownders/ golbies... My male is usually kept in a community tank (mandorin golby, flounder, starfish, plenty of live rock for hiding spots, sometimes likes to get away from my blue damsil and chormis...)
