I'm planning for a new fish to be got in about 4-6 weeks time.

I really like bangaii cardinal fish and i currently have one as the only fish in my 60l nano. I am thinking about getting another one and they will be the only 2 fish in the tank. By looking at pairs of bangaii cardinals in members tanks images i think that i have got a male. If i tried to get a female would they pair up? If i cannot get a female, if i add another cardinal will it have to be the same size? and will my current one become more active during the day (come out onto display more instead of staying in the back corners and sometimes the front corner). It seems as if my bangaii is really really active at lights out- when im in bed

Thanks

Will

Well, they are nocturnal fish.

I have not owned cardinals, but adding a second male is probably not a good idea. They will pair up if you get a female; as you probably already know, they are mouthbrooders and can be raised on rotifers.

your cardinals will be fine in your tank as ia have 2 males in one system at the moment and in my other system i have a male and female but have never paired up

A better idea would be to immediately start with baby brine shrimp, much easier and cheaper than rotifers.
