Hi Folks
I have 2 bandit cichlids (Guianacara geayi ) which i believed to be both males. They are both about 3 inches long.
One of them over the last couple of days one of them has started to dig out a cave in the tank literally to the glass.the substrate is a fine gravel and he? is moving it stone by stone and almost baricading the cave in building a barrier around the front of the cave.
Can anyone explain this?
Looking at pictures and reading about them i am begining to wonder weather one is a female as i believe they are cave breeders.
anyone any ideas.
Regards
Sean

Yes, definately breeding behaviour. May still be doing it even if they are both male. You might have a pair though. Time will tell !
