Having discussed this with ste2k3 the other day, thought i'd ask on here aswell.
A while ago i bought what i thought and was told was a banana wrass, was told it was reef safe ect, but having looked on liveaquaria for another wrass, i couldnt see the banana in the reef safe, so looked in the fish only, to see that what i thought was a banana wrass like mine isnt, mine is a yellow wrass, its says its reef safe with caution, and expert only!, anyone know any more about them, and why they are expert only? :/ it doing well btw :D .

banana wrass - what i thought i had

yellow wrass - what i really have!

it eats clean up crews. You have to introduce it properly to have it tolerate your clean up crew. Thus it is expert only. if i were u i would not have it in a reef. Most times when something says reef safe with caution it means that the fish also has a very large bioload which is not good for reef tanks.

the one you have looks like a juvenile. The head gets a lovely green colouration on it as it grows.

Tends to be safe around corals and with other fish but your hermits and snails will be at risk as it matures
