Ban On Fish Imports To Uk?

[Hawkins]

The woman at my LFS said something about banning importing fish to the UK in April this year.. i don't know if she meant all fish or just plecs, cause she mentioned them aswell.

Does anyone know anything about this? or is she wrong?

Defra have a massive list of fish that cant be imported into the UK. I any one has any fish on the lise you should report them and apply for a licence to keep them.

They do update this on a regular bases so it's gonna be a revised edition i would think.

Ooh ok and would you know where i could find this list?

Thanks

There was talk of adding a number of common fish to the ban list due to alleged susceptibility to two diseases, but I am not sure if that went ahead.

Even then, any captive bred fish would likely still be available with wild caught fish becoming less available.
