Bamboo Shrimp In Nottingham

I thought I should share this with people who live near Nottingham. I went to World of Waters in Lowdham and got 4 bamboo shrimps for £16, which is way cheaper than what I've seen. My nearest MA are selling them at £11 each or £20 for 2. They are labelled as Mountain shrimp but they are definitely bamboo shrimp.

Might have got them instead of my amano shrimps (and maybe zebra loaches) if I saw it at that price first to be honest. They are out in the open scavenging, unlike the amano shrimps who hide most of the time.

i bought 3, they used to just stay on the filter but now spend alot if not all their time out the front scavenging for food

i definitely recommend them

Wow, our local garden centre are selling them £3 each (£1.50 for ghost shrimp).

Technically, a bamboo shrimp should not be scavenging for food. They are filter feeders who set themselves up in a spot with good water flow and eat microscopic particles from the water column. If your bamboo shrimp is scavenging that probably means the water is too clean for it to get any food. Mine enjoyed a capfull of nutrafin cycle now and then before he died from molting complications . That's right, I found a use for bottled bacteria!
