Bought 1 of these today, lovely colours but as soon as it got in my tank my Swordtail started following it round and nipping it (I think). Now I lost a Guppy yesterday that looked like it had been absolutely battered and I'm sure its the Swordtail as its done some damage to my Betta. What would be the best plan of action, get rid of the swordtail? Or is there anyway of calming it down?

I'm sure the easist route would be to get rid of it.

But

you had a betta in with guppies? Not a good mix. There's a good chance it was the betta that killed the guppy. If so you may be a little early with the swordtail. Maybe wait a few days to see what happens.

The Betta very rarely goes anywhere near the Guppys and vice versa. I'd be quite surprised if it was the Betta, whereas I have seen the Swordtail going for anything it fancies on a couple of occasions.

sword tails are very boisterous fish and can and do nip and chase others, its normally the case that guppys nip bettas than vise versa, i'd say get rid of the sword tail (re-home or back to the lfs, not down the loo!)
