Balloon Molly?

What exactly is a "dg"? Dwarf gourami? What dimensions is the aquarium?

It is possible to keep a balloon molly in a 10 gallon aquarium of standardish dimensions (for example, 60*25*25 cm), but not normal mollies (unless one keeps one of the dwarf species) as they get too large. I recommend against it because balloon mollies were inbred enough that their insides are warped, as with fancy goldfish, so special care needs to be taken of their diets and I would not want to encourage breeders to do the same to other species.

I find that balloon mollies arent hard to take care of... I have a few of my own.
As long as you have a big enough tank to fit another fish in.

What kind of Plec have you got? Common? Bristlenose?
What is a DG? Dwarf Gourami?
Tank Dimensions?
I'm sorry but more information about your tank is needed before anyone can really help you.

i have a commen i think... im not sure
10 gallons
do i need to salt the water?

Common plecos grow to 12-24 inches (30-60 cm) long, depending on the species, so need a 4-6+*2*2 ft aquarium. Before you even think about new fish, your priority should be to find it a new (and suitably sized) home.

10 gallons
Gallons measure volume, dimensions would be, for example, 24*8*8 inches. What are the dimensions of your aquarium?

do i need to salt the water?
No, why do you think you might need salt for freshwater fish? Is your water soft?

In another thread, the OP says she's had the plec for 6 years. Kat, you know more about plecs than I do, but wouldn't a common plec have outgrown a 10gallon tank in somewhat less than 6 years? For that reason, I suspect it's not a common. I have suggested that the OP posts a photo to get a pukka ID.

Edit: And on another different thread, she is now suspecting it's a Clown Plec. But still no photo.

If it's 6 years old and still only a few inches long, it's unlikely to be a common pleco as even in a tank that small it would already have been 6-8 inches long and with severe stunting, and more than likely would have smashed the glass of the tank as well, along the way. Luckily all 3 species of clown plecos (they're actually panaques) grow up to 10 cm / 4 inches, but I would still want a much larger tank for them. Photo would help with an ID!

i have no clue the diminsions of my tank x.x i will measure

i have always heard you need salt in the water for mollies.
i figured out i have a clown pleco.

Mollies don't particularly need salt but I do use a Cuttlefish Bone and Bicarbonate Soda mixture in my tanks because my KH is 1 so I have to raise it.

Only a few molly species will live in anything from freshwater to marine water. Most (and almost all that are available in the LFS are hybrids), are freshwater fish, but as with most livebearers, they benefit from hard water (which is why some people say to add salt). I recommend against adding salt, but if your water is soft or neutral, they would probably benefit with some crushed coral in the filter or in the substrate, and/or some reef bones as part of the decor.

I have three balloons in my ten gallon and they are just fine...balloon mollies are small.

so... balloon in 10 gal? or hold?
We are still waiting on the dimensions :) For example, I would say "yes" to a few (3m or 3f if you are prepared to deal with fry for a few month) for a 24"L×8"W×8"T, but 100% "no" for a 11"L×11"W×12"T. I would prefer to not keep one because most fish are social, and that includes mollies.
