It's for sure drosy - i'm very sad but i don't want her to suffer. I'm feeling the need to euthanize but i don't have clove oil.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to euthanize her another way humanely?

I am sorry to hear about your fish :-( I have heard that freezing the fish is a pretty humane way of going about it. The fish's metabolism slows down and they die as peacefully as possible under the circumstances. I personally would place my fish in a plastic container and place it in the freezer if I had to do it. I hope this helps. And I am again very sorry about your fish.

Recent research seems to suggest that the freezer method is not as humane as previously believed. If I had to do this I would use a sharp knife; first stabbing lengthwise through the back of the head (thus killing the brain) and then decapitating the fish. (You can also crush the head with a blunt instrument.) When I went fishing I used to stab mackerel in this manner and as far as I could see death was instantaneous.

Of course it's not a nice thing for you to have to do for a beloved pet, but if you can force yourself to do it it is probably the kindest alternative to the clove oil.

Sorry about your fish.

I understand. Probably kindest to her, but too hard on you.

Can't help thinking there should be a pinned topic on this somewhere; I know it's been up for discussion before. Think people have tried alcohol in an emergency; something like vodka poured in the water in a small container.

I would have to agree with dwarfgourami as the knife is the quickest possible way or you could go to your local chemist as they would have clove oil
