Please advise how to treat my balloon molly I suspect he has a swim bladder problem as he cannot navigate to the top of the tank. I currrently have him in a mesh breeder box for protection from the other fish. I gave him mashed peas but have not seen him eating them. This condition started 3-4 days ago.

Water tested for ammonia,ph,nitrite and nitrate results very good.

I would greatly appreciate suggestions for a cure. I don't want him to suffer and die a slow death...............

Thanks!

So basically the causes of this problem are poorly understood and recommending a treatment is difficult. if its a swim bladder disorder try making the water shallow about 5 inches in depth obv you should have a sick tank then . you can dose the tank with an antibacterial remedy and or aquarium salt. up to 1gm salt per litre if they are salt tolerant which mollies are :). HOwever despite you trying all this might not show any improvment :( so if the fish seems unwilling or unable to feed it might be best to put him down :(. but good luck! :)
