Hi All !

I have a quick question for you....

I have a Balloon Molly that I just brought home on Sunday (along with 4 other new Mollies).

Everyone is doing great!!

I noticed last night that the orange balloon molly was rather still and not moving too much. Her gills were also moving alot faster than normal. I suspected that she might be having fry, as she looks very pregnant.

I was right!!

This morning I woke up to at least 10 molly fry in the tank!

My concern now is that the poor orange molly is drained.....she is lying on her side and looks horrible! I feel soo bad for her! Is there anything else that I can do??

My water levels are all fine and all of the other fish are doing great. Was having the fry just too much for her? She was not being harassed, chased or bothered in any way by the other fish and was able to give birth in peace with lots of hiding places and shelter.

Is she doomed or can I still save her?? It breaks my heart to see her suffering in there..... :-( :-(

Thanks for the help!

HEATHER

It's not uncommon for this to happen to baloon mollies-the baloon belly is actually a deformity that is bred in on purpose-and can cause complications during delivery.

I don't know what to tell you to fix it though:( Sorry......
