well recently 2.25 am i noticed my female balloon molly's anal was enlarged and stretched so i said yay she is having babies, but then she took long and so i guess she wanted me 2 move then she had them when i woke bk up, and i only found 4 is this normal.

Depends on her size, but usually balloon mollies have more, dont be suprised if some got eaten, balloon mollies have larger mouths and can easily scoop the fry if they wanted..

She may drop some more so keep a eye on her, you should of really put her in a trap when noticing she was ready to drop really but too late now lol

When the mother drop fry, she is very hungry so there is a large possibility she has munched a few..

On another note, balloon mollies fry tend to be a bit larger than normal fry so maybe she did not just have many, if there is only 4 you can find, others might be well hidden and will venture out soon enough, so have your net near tank ready, im pretty sure you will find more.. the fry can be sneaky little buggers lol :)

good luck and congrats on the fry :)

she is not a large balloon she is petite very round and small she was so stiff and slow moving then i noticed her anal stretch and stretched so i left and fell asleep lol, i was hoping to see it happen but no luck she still looks gravid maybe more to come it has been 8 hrs since then, i am getting some xlarge balloons very soon, maybe today, they sell no traps over here only the lees breeder net which is expensive, US$12.95. well i am getting planning on breeding only mollies and guppies my guppy males are not maters how can i change that
,

Guppy males not maters? put them in with a few females and im sure they will be lol

If your balloon molly is only small then she may only have had a very small amounbt of fry, especially if it was her first ever drop.. the more times they drop, the greater quantity the fry becomes :)

If your leaving your fry in the tank, Getting extra large balloon mollies will increase the chance of the fry being eaten so a breeding net is vital if you want to save the fry (or at least give them the best chance)

Keep a colse eye on the balloon molly, there is a chance she may drop some more..

i have 6 females and 2 males guppies, also actually i usually catch the fry's and put them in the 10 gallon tank i call the nursery, i now have balloon fries, wag tail platy fries, clear swordtail fries, and fancy guppy fries.
