Balas like to school... So, I recommend having at least 4... I used to have them, and they liked being in small groups of 5 to 7.

Tinfoil Barbs like to school... So, I recommend having at least 5... I used to have this type of barb, and I had them in a group of 6.

Careful with Balas. They will grow to 12 - 14" so dont overstock. :good:

ao my tank should be fully stocked with just those guys right?

Do they need any hiding spots? or is it better if there is more swimmin space?

Driftwood, rocks, and Live Plants... Is what they like, with plenty of Swimming Space also provided.

they need swimminf space and areas of high vegetation. groups of THREE is best

what are the actual measurements of the tank as id say bala/silver sharks need at least a 6ft tank

3 is not best at all. They are a shoaling species, so the more you can get the better. Mine calmed down a lot and were far happier when I upped their numbers from 3 to 9.

I would keep decorations to a minimum. I find they prefer lower intensity lighting and a lot of space to swim. As mine grow I keep pulling out more and more bogwood from my 6x2x2 to ensure they have space to motor.
