Well all the whiptails eggs are gone and Sir Reginald has gone back to life as usual. Hopefully there are some babies lurking in the undergrowth.

Whiptails are spawning again. Haven’t seen any babies from the last spawn but I suspect they’re in there somewhere. My clients are always tickled at the prospect of babies, so that’s fun.

Added eight orange lemon tetras to the tank. The added tetras have made the remaining ones noticeably more active. Here's a quick vid of feeding time.

By whiptail I assume you may mean Farlowella? I had a couple of these which spawned in my 50. The 1st spawn vanished, It was food. The dad guarded and cared for the eggs but not the fry when they hatched. I will say the babies are the most difficult to raise of any species born in my tanks. I never got them beyond a few months at best.

The fish in the pics seem to be sturisoma genus, easier than farlowella genus

They are Sturisomatichthys panamensis. At least, that's what I bought them as. I have at time suspected they might be a different species. But they're really nice, whatever they are. They do spawn occasionally, but I have never had any fry survive, unsurprising in a community tank.

@Magnum Man will you look at this. After saying in the "I've never had good luck with cories" thread that all of my cories lost their barbels, I go over to do a WC today and spot this guy. Maybe there's hope for me after all.

i have heard they will grow back their barbels, if the conditions that caused their loss are changed soon enough… both my remaining had also lost theirs, and one grew its back, when changed to the tetra aquarium… so one has, and one does not have them anymore…
