Bad luck with snails...

Grrr... I've had bad luck with snails.
Three, now, have died on me. I don't think I've had a snail that lasted over two weeks. My tanks are established and cycled... all water levels are fine... I just don't understand it!!

I bought one today and it was floating within 10 minutes!

I think copper will kill inverts but im not sure, could be that.

Oh yes, Ive heard many cases of copper killing inverts as well. Good point Tenacious D

are you useing any chemicals to control alge or any medication? Could there still be some left in your tank mabey?

I left him in there... apparently he's still alive?! He must have just gotten an air bubble in his shell or something.
...very strange indeed


I put a teeny snail in with the bettas, and he's getting picked on already though.

Snails do sometimes float on purpose.. they use it as a method of moving to a new grazing area.

Please don't tell me you've flushed healthy snails before just because they're floating

the other 2 snails I had were beat up by my huge mean platys, which are since given to a friend
