Well last weekend my external filter died - on a sunday afternoon! After spending 2 hours trying to get it working again I had to run out and pay through the nose for a new one, with a 250L tank you can imagine it wasnt cheap! I crammed in as much of the old sponges and ceramic hoops into the new one and accepted the fact that I may have a few problems until it was fully seeded. The next day the ammonia reading was 0.25 so water change time.....
2 days later we had a power cut in the area! So the power was off for 5 hours!! More setbacks...
Today I went to feed the fish and accidentally dropped a whole new pot (large size of course) of fish food into the tank!!!!! AAARRRGGGGGGGHHHHH
A 75% water change was all I could manage as I have to do it bucketload by buckload and was exhausted!! No food for my fishes for a while!
So large exhausting water changes every day til God knows when. I really do feel like packing it all in.
