It starts off with a fight with my business partner and now migrates into my 55 Gallon dripping without a crack. :(

I guess I should be happy since there isn't a crack which means it is probably just a seal, but still. It is a fairly slow drip and it is dripping straight into the 55 gallon below it luckily. I checked the tank for cracks and couldn't find a single one. It is somewhere on the bottom behind the supports somewhere.

I'm going to be up for a few more hours at least so I am watching it and will move the fish to the 30 Gallon if necessary. I guess I will switch tanks tomorrow and then pull this one aside, empty it, and try to find the leak and reseal the entire tank. :(

Well, none are in the 55 anymore. It went down about 6 to 7% in a matter of less than 15 minutes so I pulled them. I'm getting ready to try and find all the snails, but I'm sure I won't find all of the. :(

Does anyone know how long plants will do outside of a tank?

oh no, Im so sorry to hear you are having a nightmare

Good thing you have the extra tank to move your fish to

Dont really have much of a clue about plants, but do you have a bucket or something you could put them in? as the tank you are moving the fish to is smaller, then the left over tank water could be used to fill the bucket up.

The only bucket I have is 3/4 full of gravel as I switched to sand and haven't decided what to do with it yet. :(

I'm in the middle of draining the tank now, trying to do it fast.

Once drained I'm going to drain the lower 55, pull it, empty it, and move everything to it.

The top tank is drained and my pythons pump is toast. :( What a night. :(

I'm lucky they are next to a window for draining and empty the bottom one.

Sorry you had such a nightmare, but well done for noticing the dripping.........that could have been very bad.....

Good luck on sorting it!

do you have a large kitchen pot to put the plants it? they are much more forgiving than the fish, i even keep smaller ones in plastic cups occasionally.

i know how bad this sucks, my 56 exploded in the middle of the night, and then the replacement tank did the same thing this one is doing to you. guess third time was the charm.

i used pots and 1 gal baggies for the plants and gravel. and lots of plastic cups with enough water to keep the plants wet. hth

I don't, but I just finished moving all the sand from the original tank to the other 55 Gallon and I'm already filling it. Same filter, same sand so as long as I get my aquascaping done here pretty quick it should be up in the next 2 hours w/ fish.

Used. I recieved 2 55 Gallons w/ a Dual Stand, 1 45 Gallon Long, 1 29 Gallon, and a 10 Gallon w/ 2 heaters and a whisper filter for $250.00....

I moved all the sand to the other tank and from what I can see (prior to cleaning the tank really well) is that it appears to have broken a seem. There are no visible cracks in the glass that I can find.

I'm going to buy a couple bottles of silicone today or tomorrow and see about patching it up and reinforcing the seams and seals when I do. Then I am going to hurry up (maybe this weekend) and get the stand and hood built and get it back up. The fish are going to love me when they have to move again. ;)

Once it's back up I am going to go through the current one is use also, just to be safe.

Well, everybody is back at home and seem happy exploring the changes...
