Could I ask your thoughts on the bacterlife 7 treatment? supposedly use once a week as part of your cleaning regime?

Who makes it? I'm not sure which product it is, as there are many bacteria starters out there with similar names, but few do the job they were sold for. Unless the product is sold refrigerated, and has been kept refrigerated through-out shipping, the product will almost certaily be useless. This is because our friendly bacteria at room temperature run out of oxygen in the bottle within a few hours. Without oxygen they die :/ Bactinettes and biospira are the only two "bacteria in the bottle" products that I am aware of that work.

To start a tank quicker, using mature media is the easiest and quickest way, as you control it's trasport throughout transit and can garrentee it's been handled correctly. This ensures the bacteria are still alive when they get to your tank

All the best

Personally, I think any product that gets marketed with stuff like this:

is a waste of money, and almost certainly won't deliver on the promises. In fact, the whole pseudo-science on that linked page sounds a bit dodgy to me.

You can put as many kinds of bacteria in there you want, they won't make any difference if they're all dead!
