Backing Inside Or Outside?

Does the backing go on the inside or the outside of the tank? i seem to think the outside the other half seems to think inside. Could somebody please clarify asap.

Outside if it's just the normal background.

its just a plain blue one, so i just peel off and put the sticky side on the glass?

Basically so. Most of them you have to use tape or some adhesive but unless otherwise noted, they're intended to go outside.
