Background

What is the best way to stick a background on the outside of my tank ? Got a rectangular tank.

probably clear sticky tape

Depends what background it is... some people tape them on.. some use vaseline, I've used vegetable oil. They all work.

well I used double sided tape but the background isn't very clear.

using oil or vaseline will brighten it up. wipe a thin later across the plastic sheet, put it on the tank and wipe out the bubbles with a credit card.

are backgrounds needed or is it just a personal thing?? ( i came on to add a post to ask this but hijacked this one instead, hope you dont mind!!!)

I read that backgrounds are very useful - gives the fish some where to "retreat" should they feel threatened, like its a riverbank etc. It does make me wonder about what its like in a bowl/biorb etc.

But i stuck mine on with sellotape!
