OK, some of you may have read in an earlier post about my spiny eel. The poor guy died a few hours we got him home so I'm taking it to the lfs again with a water sample. I highly doubt it was my water since I only did a change 2 days before, but you can never be too sure.

If it was the actual fish I'm thinking of getting another one - I may get another eel but they had some nice dwarf gouramis there (still debating if they'd be ok wit Steve the Betta though) and a pair of gorgeous rams I'd never seen rams that colourful before, so pretty.

I could be wrong, but dont spiney eels require feeder fish?
I just bought a couple of rams a few weeks ago, they are so cool!

No gouramis with the betta. They're the same species and are not compatible. I have 2 german blue rams. They have grown to about 1 1/2 inches and they get more beautiful every day. They won't get much bigger though and sometimes it takes a while to find them in the tank. But once I find them they are the prettiest fish in there

spiny eels don't require feeder fish (they don't sell feders in the UK anyway).

Well, I went to get the rams (yay for rams!) but while I was looking at them my dad grabbed the store assistant and went to get me a new eel. I'm not complaining though... he is a very very pretty eel actually prettier than my last one. I'm not going to take any photos of him etc until tomorrow when he'll be settled in a bit.

The first one might have died from being injured while being caught in the net. That sometimes happens.

OoOoOh,congrats!! I love my eel, he's the sweetest, liveliest little guy He sits in my hand all curled up, I literally have to shake him off or he'd hang out there all day Can't wait to see pics!

I think it might be the store, the people up there are total morons who know nothing about fish Somehow the fish all seem ok though... weird.
Could also be the distance we had to travel to get home - all along bumpy country roads.
