I'm kind of new, I was on last year under a different name--my computer went bonkers and just recently able to go back on line after a long time. I had the opportunity to take care of 9 bettas last year (max. at one time) but something went wrong and they all died over the Winter, they all seemed to die within a couple of weeks of each other, the water seemed to be right just don't understand. Well anyway I'm hoping to start by 1 betta at a time again this year soon. I have two 5 gallon octagon tanks, a regular 5 gallon tank and a 3-4 gallon critter keeper with a lid, paid all total--3.00 for all. I do also have alot of 1 gallon glass pickle jars that I bought at a yard sale for around 50 to 75 cents each--quite expensive, I have aprox. 8 of these and not quite sure on what to do with them, my wife is getting kind of tired of seeing them around the apartment. Also have 3 ten gallon setups, 3 1 gallon fish bowls and 3 more 1 gallon small aquariums that came with a small light and filter bought at PETCO last year on sale. I started keeping my bettas last year in a container that we bought at SAMS which holds Cheese Balls for the kids, holds aprox. 2-3 gallons of water and was quite a nice tank, had to move the betta out of them in the Winter so I could put a heater in with them but it sure worked great at first. Below is a picture of the container, it cost aprox. 5-6 dollars + you get junk for the kids and a home for your fish. Figure I'll start setting up at least one tank here in a few days and get it ready for a betta, I just hope things work out this time.

Here is my second betta tank from last year, didn't have anything except for these 2 jugs---they sure make good temp homes, both hold around 2 1/2 gallon and are quite cheap.

we just dont get containers like that in the UK. Biggest jar I have ever seen is pickled onions!
