I have three mollies, 5 pristella tetra, and 2 (tiny) siamese algea eaters in a ten gallon tank (which I know will become overstocked but I'm going to move the algea eaters soon). It is salted but the nitrite is a tad high (.5 ppm because the algea eaters are new) but everything else is good and I've noticed that the backs of the non-pregnant female molly and male molly are slightly bent. The poor male seems like he cannot move his. The preganat molly is fine but her excrement is red. I'm nor sure of the two sickly ones though. Are they sick and is there anything that I can do. Oh, yes, their backs were funny before the nitrite rose. Any advice would be appreicated. Thanks.

Do they look skinny as well? You might try to deworm them. Danios are very susceptible to this type of symptom. Deworming prolongs their lives, but in the end, you may have to euthanize the fish. Get some medications to remove worms.

Yes, unfortunatally they sickest one is awfully skinny. He is hiding under a plastic bridge most of the time now. What type of worm medication would you recomend? Thank you for the advice.

If the poos is red looking at internal parasites with the bent spine.
Does the red look like worms, and have you been feeding bloodowrms.

:( The sickly molly died overnight. Poor thing. The poo of the pregnant molly was red but as of last night the poo of the sickly one was normal. I know a decent pet store where I'm going to take the water tomorrow so I should get some comformation on the cause of death. I wonder why the other fish are not affected. Yes I have been feeding freeze dried bloodworms but not live.

Sorry R.I.P.
