Baby Plec

Sorry for your loss :-(

Yes, take it out; assassin are good clean up crew, but a whole baby plec is too much and will affect your water quality.

Do you have any idea why the plec died? Have you run a set of water tests and done a water change to be on the safe side? (not trying to be intrusive, just pointing stuff out you may have not thought of :good: )

water is fine it looked a bit small and skiny wheb i put it in. bit unsure about leaving them snails in now with my other fish.

They'll only eat dead things; while fast (well, for snails anyway!) there's no way they could hurt a healthy fish.

I've found very small plecs to be quite sensitve to changes and being moved, and ones with sunken bellies can be very hard to pull round, so I wouldn't worry too much. I always do a large water change if I have a dead fish though, just to be on the safe side.

a full water change now at this time will take hours :( been dead for about 30 mins i think

I don't mean a full water change: I always do 50 or 75% if I've had a death, but that's just me, you don't have to do one if you don't think it's neccessary.

tested water ammonia is 0 nitrites are o nitrate on chart looks between 20 and 40. ph is 7.2

Yeah, nothing wrong with those stats; like I said, don't worry too much; I'm just slightly obsessed with water changes! Merest hint of trouble and I'm pulling out the hose
