Baby Platys?

Hi there,

When cleaning out my 30 ltr biorb yesterday i removed the filter and saw 2 or 3 what looked like babies (pink and about 2 inches long). I tried to net them out but because the gap that the filter slots into is too small i wasn't quick enough and they swam through into gaps in the filter media and i didn't see them again In the end i just had to replace the filter.

I think i'm going to have another go today - any idea how i can catch them?

I'm not sure what gave birth to them but i did buy a couple of platies a few weeks back, one of which died shortly after spending a lot of it's time resting at the bottom for a few days? Perhaps she was giving birth?

isnt 2" around the size of a full grown platy?

To catch them use 2 nets, shepard them with 1 net into the other net

Be patient and move slowly with the net. That's really the only way. They can go hide anytime they want.
