Do you think I can put my 2 cm long baby platy in with one of my bettas? Is it big enough not to be eaten?

Well I tried it but as soon as I put her in Charlie immediately started chasing her, so i quickly took her out. I have no idea why he did that, as she is (as far as I can tell) much too big for him to eat. Her length is about from the tip of his mouth the the edge of his operculum. (Almost 1" long)

Most male betta's are terratorial, aggressive species, so with any new arrival of fish, they are bound to be 'checked out'. Measure your decision on the health of the platy, in terms that it will not be eaten, and also sustain no extensive abuse from the betta.

I should imagine the platy is too big to be eaten, but may still be nipped.

Well, the platy is very healthy, too big to be eaten as far as I can tell, but it may still be hurt so I won't risk it until she gets a little bigger.
