Much to my surprise, I just found a baby molly in my tank....

For various reasons, the tank has been a little neglected of late, tests showed that ammonia etc were all non existant, the water looked clean so as for a number of reasons, its been a good three weeks atleast since the last water change, so imagine my surprise when as I moved some of the plants out to do a clean, out shot a tiny little fish that I didn't recognise... well camoglaged, it a while to work out what it is, and it seems one of my silver lyre tails has had babies... a good search around, and I couldn't find any more - not surprising - the angelfish at the very least are greedy things, its surprising even this one has survived...

So - what to do to help the little thing grow up then? Goodness knows how old it is, but it seems to be doing alright for itself so far - it's already the size of a small neon tetra...

Now I know where it hides, I can drop food it's way - but what to give it?

Cheers...

Hi, IME even the smallest Molly fry will eat almost anything! I give my fish flakes, Catfish pellets, algae wafers and occasional treats such as brine shrimp, blood worms, daphnia (Mollies go mad for daphnia), Tublifex plus some occasional veg such as peas. All my fish love sinking catfish pellets (the granular ones). I have seen the tiniest fry eating them. HTH. At present I have about 25 - 30 Molly fry. :)
